Solomon Schechter will be closed on Monday, February 15th in observance of Presidents Day!
Crazy Hat Day
On Monday, February 15th, we will begin the month of Adar. On Tuesday, February 16th we will celebrate the beginning of Adar with Crazy Hat Day! To celebrate we will wear crazy hats to school. Please help us fulfill the mitzvot of Purim by sending in $5.00 for Mishloach Manot (Purim gift baskets) and Matanot La’Evyonin (gifts for the poor) as soon as possible and no later then Monday, February 22nd. We will celebrate Purim on Friday, February 26th and will exchange Mishloach Manot.
Monthly Mitzvot
Our school is taking part in a wonderful program that connects our children with our IDF soldiers in Israel!!!!During school, each class will be writing letters to the IDF, thanking them for their bravery, service and commitment, and wishing them a Happy Purim. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU... PLEASE IS A DONATION OF $5.00 PER CHILD TO SPONSOR PURIM BASKETS WHICH WILL GO TO OUR SOLDIERS!!! Just have your children give their $5.00 to their Judaic Studies teachers by February 19th. We will do the rest! Please let's have 100% participation from our families for this great Purim mitzvah!!!! Remember that these young men and women are fighting on our behalf. Remember that these brave young adults could be our own children.
"Spin, Pop, Boom" - Mad Science Expiriements at Schechter!
Sunday, February 21st, 3:00 PM, $7.00 per child. Reserve your space now for this exciting, family fun and educational Solomon Schechter Parent Organization Event. This event is open to Schechter students, their siblings (ages 4 and up), Mallin ECC Pre-K students and Midbar Kodesh Kindergarteners. Contact the Schechter Office to reserve your space.
Friday Dismissal Changeover
Beginning Friday, February 19th, Solomon Schechter Kabbalat Shabbat returns to 2:30 PM and dismissal for all Schechter students return to 3:00 PM.
